A tale of two sisters

Once upon a time, there were two sisters who were born into
a Roman Catholic family during the 1960s. The teachings of the Roman Catholic
church instilled in them a strong faith, assuring them that they were never
alone and that a profound love and protection surrounded their lives,
regardless of their actions. Growing up with such unwavering belief provided
them with comfort and a powerful motivation to embrace life fearlessly.

Their family led a modest yet content life, belonging to the middle class without being either privileged or impoverished. Despite their austere lifestyle, they always felt an overwhelming sense of abundance and gratitude.

Their mother, Betty, had converted to Catholicism in order to marry their father. While they faithfully attended church every Sunday, their family life was far from perfect – at times it was chaotic and frenetic. Nevertheless, it was a shining example of unconditional love. The sisters enjoyed the freedom to play, create, and express themselves in their unique ways, trusting they would be loved fully and unconditionally. Both of them attended Catholic schools, deepening their connection to their faith.

At the tender age of 7, Cate experienced a heartbreaking loss when her dear friend Melinda passed away from Leukaemia. On the day of Melinda's funeral, Cate was sent to fetch some milk and bread for the post-funeral gathering. As she solemnly walked behind her sister Liz and Melinda's sibling, she stumbled upon a small pendant of Mother Mary on a dusty path. In that moment, she felt an unmistakable divine sign from Mary and Melinda, urging her to persevere, not matter what.

From that day forward, Cate carried a profound belief that she was always protected and guided by a higher power beyond herself. Throughout her life, she encountered the loving presence of Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene in various forms – from plant medicine ceremonies to tarot readings and spiritual advisory sessions. A spiritual advisor gifted Cate with a modified prayer for Mary, which resonated deeply with her newfound understanding and trust in the divine.

This life-changing prayer went as follows:

"Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death of our ego. Amen."

To Cate, this prayer encapsulated a profound truth: that we are immortal, interconnected aspects of the divine. Each individual holds an eternal connection to the greater whole.

Liz, Cate's sister, also shared a unique bond with Mother Mary. Everywhere she went, Liz collected symbols, statues, paintings, jewellery, and clothing related to Mary. These cherished possessions served as a way for Liz to keep Mary close to her heart. For Liz, Mother Mary was a source of strength, protection, and unwavering inspiration to face life's challenges with resilience.

The sisters recognise the historical confusion surrounding the roles of Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene in ancient texts. Through their passion for jewellery, they aim to weave the magical stories of these remarkable women – tales of strength, hope, courage, and, above all, healing powers. According to them, every woman possesses these innate healing abilities within her very being, encoded in her genes.

With their hearts overflowing with love and compassion, the sisters extend their well wishes to all women, hoping they recognise and embrace their divine gifts and experience boundless love and abundance. They stand together as sisters, offering support and understanding to all those they encounter on their shared journey through life.
